Friend Making Monday

I skipped out on the last two editions of FMM, but here I am again, trying to get back on track! Life has been just a little bit crazy the past few weeks, It's the start of another week and I'm determined to start it off right, now let's just see where I put that motivation of mine, hmmm??? My house is in desperate need of a cleaning so I could really use that motivation of mine!

Anyways back to the post, sorry I'm on a tangent mood right now!

So Amber's question for this weeks edition is:

If life were a movie, which movie would you want to live in?

This is a difficult question, there are quite a few movies that I could chose from, but to narrow it down to just ONE that's hard!

And no, my answer is not TWLIGHT, I do LOVE the books, and hoping New Moon is much better than Twlight!

So back to what movie would my life be???

  • A walk to remember came to mind, but didn't seem just right.
  • Then 50 first dates came to mind, and as much as it could go with Clayton and I, it was still just lacking something.

And then....

After much thought, this movie kept coming back to me, and looking back and reviewing MOST of my ADULT life, I think this if very fitting!

This movie has so much meaning for Clayton and myself! Every time we watch it we think of our wedding day all over again, laugh and fall right back in love. I know I know sounds super cheesy, but sometimes you need a little cheesiness in your life!

So now that I rambled on just to answer one little question, what's your movie?

Link up on McLinky, so I can go check out your answers!!!

The love of my life

I always tend to post about me or my kids, but never take the time to post about Clayton. So I thought I would take the time to write a post for him.

Going through this whole Lap-band process, has been stressful at times, and through all of it, Clayton has been right there for me. I don't think I could have wished or asked for a better husband than him.

Don't tell him that though, it'll go to his head. I don't tell him enough how much I do appreciate him, I tell him daily I love him, but I don't always show how much I love him.

He is a great husband, friend, and father. He is always right there for me weather it's to wipe away my tears, hold me when I feel "unpretty", comfort me when I'm down and sad, or just deal with my fits when I'm moody.

Not that I'm saying he doesn't have his faults, because trust me he has many of them, some I'm still learning to live with. He has been a hard man to break, it really is hard to teach an old dog new tricks, but as long as I give him a bone, he is usually more than willing to try.

In our 5 years of being together, we've had very little "together" pictures, you know the kind where it's just the two of you. This past Sunday we just happened to look extra good for church and I though hey this would be a good photo opp. so we put the camera on self-timer and snapped away!

What did we come away with, only this AWESOME picture of the two of us! I could literally go on forever about Clayton and how much I love him and all that he does for my children and me, but I guess it's only good to stop while I'm ahead.

Clayton, I love you and I'm so glad that your my husband and you gave me the honor of being your wife!

I'll end this post by saying the song that you used to sing when you were in trouble, you always know it will make me laugh and sometimes it catches you a break!

You're my honeybunches of an Oats
Pummy-ummy-umpkin
You're my sweetie pie
You're my cuppycake, gumdrop
Snoogums, snoogums, sort
The apple of my eye
You can hear the song below:

The Journey Continues...

I've started my next step in my Lap Band journey! Needless to say, this step isn't so exciting or fun. On Wednesday October 21st, I started my two weeks of an all Liquid diet!

Sounds fun doesn't? Not really, but I've had/have a GREAT support system and when I feel weak and want to dive into a bag of chips they are right there for me. Reminding me of my goal and keeping me on the right path.

November 4th @ 10:30 a.m. is surgery, right around the corner. I have mixed feelings right now, feelings of excitement, nervousness, and a little scared.
Why scared? Because this will be a big change of life, one that I'm very ready for but it's still a little scary. I think change in general tends to be scary, it's the element of not knowing for sure what to really expect.

I'm very prepared and educated on the Lap-Band, but till you're there, your never really 100% ready!

So the Friday before I started my all liquid diet, I had a Last Supper with some of my girlfriends from church! Those girls are just great, I'm so blessed to have them in my life!
Everyone brought there favorite dish to share, we had chips and salsa/queso from Chili's, oh so yummy! We had the best cheese ball I've ever had with crackers! We also had crab dip, I didn't get any of it since I'm allergic to sea-food but it looked so very very yummy!
Last but not least, Sara made one of her famous cakes, but put a twist on it, I found it very clever and it made me laugh!
She made me a "Stomach" cake, top with a lap-band on it. That cake sure did taste yummy!
We hung out, ate, talked, and played games till Midnight! Thanks girls for such a great time and a wonderful last supper!!!

Maddie the Gymnast

In August we enrolled Madison in Gymnastics which she has just loved some much! She has really learned how to perfect being a Monkey! She is still working on being apart of a group, she had a hard time staying with the other kids and doing what her coach wanted her to do.

All in all she really loves gymnastics, so after surgery we'll have to see if she wants to sign up for classes again. Here are some really cute pictures of her ready for class!

She got caught getting into the cookie jar

Grandon has had two soccer games already, below are pictures from his first game. At his second game he really started to get the hang of how to play, and scored his first goal from half field!

We are so proud of him and how well he is doing! Plus he looks so darn cute out there!!! Can't wait for the rest of the games this season!

50th Birthday Party!!!

On Tuesday October 6th my real dad turned 50. We all purposefully forgot his birthday, because we had secretly planned a surprise party for him on that Saturday. We planned the party for months and with the help of my family we were able to have a very successful surprise party.

My dad had no clue what so ever! He cried when he came in and we sang happy birthday to him, he then cried when he was presented with the picture that I recruited my sister in law to paint for us, thanks so much Heidi, he LOVED it!!!

A friend of mine from church made his cake which was just amazing!!! Thank you so much Sara!!!

1st day of soccer practice...

This past Tuesday Grandon FINALLY had his first soccer practice, only after 2 weeks of it being rained out!!! It was so cute watching him chase the ball and learning what to do with the ball. He tells us that he just loves soccer!

He is suppose to have his first game today, but by the looks of all the rain that is coming down from the sky, I don't think we're going to be having our first game, how sad :(

Lapband Update....

So as promised, here I am with another update! Before I update y'all on the latest, I want to take some time to thank everyone. If your a little confused just keep reading and you'll get unconfused.

When I first started posting about my Lapband journey, I had asked everyone to please give me their thoughts, comments, and suggestions. Many of you have done that in your own way, Clayton and I want to thank you for all your questions and concerns.

Although we might not see eye to eye with everyone, that's okay. We have read each and everyone of your comments/emails. We have taken the time to research the other alternatives that have been suggested. In the end, we have chosen to continue on the Lapband journey. We both feel that this is what's best for us.

We do respect every ones personal feelings on the matter, however, we now ask that y'all respect our decision to go through with this journey. Starting today, I/We (It will be hard for Clayton and the kids as well) need nothing but support from our family and friends.

If you feel that this just isn't something you can support us on, that is fine and you have that right, but from here on out, please keep it to yourself, as it will only be counter-productive.

We officially have a surgery date now:

Wednesday, November 4th, 2009.

Starting October 21st, 2009 I will have to start an all liquid diet and will be on that till the day of surgery, and the 3-4 weeks after surgery.

We are very excited about all of this, and we both feel that this couldn't come at a better time in our lives. As with any surgery there are always RISKS! We encourage everyone to learn and read up about the lapband, it has changed so much since it has come out a few years ago. If you're interested in learning more please check out: www.lapband.com

One thing we want to HIGHLY stress is this: I am NOT having the Gastric Bypass!!!
The lapband surgery is nothing at all like the Gastric surgery!!! The only thing that is similar is you lose weight with both.

So that is our latest update!

Blog Giveaway....

So one of my favorite bloggers is doing a giveaway, you should all go check out her blog, not only does she do GREAT giveaways, she is just so darn crafty and talented at her crafts! I LOVE that she shares her talent with the blog world!!!
