So the day has come....

After much waiting and anticipation I finally feel ready to share my 7 month mark pictures with all of you! I've been begged to post pictures and well today is the day! There will be three sets of 3 pictures, they will start with my pre-Lapband pictures, to my 2 month post Lapband, to current day which is my 7 month post Lapband pictures, then I will have 3 sets of side by sides .

I look at these pictures and I am amazed, because for me I still feel like I look the way I did in my pre-pictures.

I've worked really hard to get to this point, I am currently 70lbs down, with roughly 70 more to go. My goal weight is 140 and I started this whole journey weighing nearly 300lbs!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me through this journey, it's not over and there is still a long road ahead to get to my goal weight, but I have to say this is the BEST thing that I've ever done for myself, and there is nothing in this world that would make me ever take it away!

So I guess enough with the rambling and time to show you what you really want to see anyways, the RESULTS!

Broccoli Salad

So I personally think that Broccoli Salad is one of those American BBQ traditions, it isn't an American holiday without Apple Pie and Broccoli Salad! So here is the recipe for one of our favorites!

Broccoli Salad
Simple, easy, and oh so YUMMY!

Ingredients
  • 1 head broccoli
  • 6 to 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup chopped red onion
  • 1small bag of dried cherries
  • Cheese is optional, if you are going to use it only 6-8 ounces
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • salt and pepper to taste
Directions

Wash broccoli head thoroughly. Trim off the large leaves from the broccoli stem. Cut the head into flowerets. Place in a large bowl. Add the crumbled bacon, onion, dried cherries, and cheese, if you are using it. In a small bowl, combine the remaining ingredients, stirring well. Add to broccoli mixture and toss gently. Remember you can always add more or less to suit your taste.

Happy 3rd Birthday Madison!

So yesterday June 8th was Madison's real birthday, but this past Sat. on the 5th we had her big birthday bash! It was a Zebra party, deck out in hot pink, zebra, and complete with pony rides and swimming!

Maddie with her Aunt Kim

Maddie and her cake

Maddie's cake, made by Heidi, you rock!

The Appetizer table!

Maddie and her new bike!

She was so happy!

Daddy can I please ride it???

Mommy and Maddie fixing to open presents!

Getting ready to go swimming

Grandon riding his Uncle Dan Dan's horse, Chickie!

The table decor, I didn't want plastic hot pink tablecloth's, but had a very had time finding real ones.

The birthday girl and her brother

These cookies were so yummy! Heidi you just rock all around!

All in all I think we had a great birthday party! Madison had most of her family and friends come to her birthday party, she had a great time, and we got to celebrate her growing up to the ripe old age of "3"!

No I'm BUZZ LIGHTYEAR!!!

With the upcoming release of Toy Story 3, it's pretty much Toy Story central at our house, Madison is completely and totally obsessed! This video clip is to priceless not to share with all of blogging world!

*Make sure to turn the volume up a little bit, it's quite at first*

Watching a movie is hard work!

It's times like these that I like to sit back and remember my blessings from Heavenly Father! Madison loves her movies, but sometimes it's just really hard work to watch those movies. She looks so sweet and innocent, don't let that fool you!

Mother's Day 10'

This year for Mother's Day we had a very low clue celebration! We went to church and came home and hung out as a family! I made a very special mother's day dinner for the four of us, and Clayton took care of the kids for me and let me relax for the evening.

Clayton read to the kids before bed

A picture of me with my cards and flower

Clayton felt that we needed a full body shot!

I'm such a bad blogger...

I used to be so good at keeping up with our blog and well I'm pretty much the worst blogger ever now! So in keeping to true fashion I will spend my time posting a million post for your reading pleasure, and I'm not going to promise to do better, life is way to crazy to even think about making promises I can't keep!
