What's the daily for today?

Did you check out the featured blog from yesterday? Joys of Home...

Another day another feature!

Today's feature, is a blog I read daily, and yes I mean daily! Her story is one that should be heard world wide! There is no feature craft or how to make your home cuter through mod podge.

You will read about love, inspiration, family, faith, and healing! You will hear a story that will make you cry, of a women and a family that through one of life's worst tragedy's imaginable, survived and are living life to the fullest everyday!

Maybe you've heard of this blog or even her, Stephanie Neilson, a plane crash survivor, tells about her life since her crash. I find strength through her words, I find myself loving life just a little bit more, knowing that I can still do the daily things that she once did with such ease.

I hold onto my family a little tighter every night since reading her blog. I don't complain about having to get up at 6am because it's a tad bit early, at least I can!

I could go on and on all day about the great joys of reading this blog, but I will let you find out on your own, so hop on over to nienie's and read about her story!

And as always let her know you came from me!

Buying new clothes...

Usually you get super excited when you get to go shopping for new clothes and even more excited when you are buying for yourself, right?

I was extra happy to go shopping for jeans this winter, after losing 76lbs I just knew it was going to be SO much easier this year, WRONG!!!!!!!

I sat in the dressing room more upset, frustrated and mad this year than any other year in the past. I cried, I yelled, and I screamed! Clayton and the lady at the store were so nice and helpful! Clayton held me while I cried, he let me scream in his chest, and told me that he still Loved me!

Madison, on the other hand, decided she needed to take pictures of mommy in the dressing room trying pants on! Grandon, oh my oh so sweet Grandon, he just says, mom, they are what they are let's go already!

I guess I'm just going to have to get used to the fact that till I'm done losing weight buying new clothes just won't be as much fun as I keep telling myself it will be!

In the mean time enjoy the wonderful pictures my daughter took, I think she might be a photographer when she grows up, because she ALWAYS wants the camera to take pictures!

Oh, and we did end up buying these jeans!
(What do you think???)

FHE Binder,,,

I got this super cute idea to do a Family Home Evening Binder! My inspiration came from one of my favorite Etsy shops, JustBeccuz.

She has FHE lessons for a whole year that you can purchase from her! I LOVED her idea so much that I created one for our family!

Check out her idea at her Etsy shop!

Sorry for the poor quality in my pictures, I couldn't get my lighting right and it was dark outside!

I LOVE fashion, and I LOVE different not main stream fashion, add some recycled fashion and you've got my attention! Well that's what the owner of Poor Pitiful Pearl (PPP) has done!

She has turned clothes into art that you can wear! She offers unique and handmade clothing items! If you haven't heard of her, she is a MUST to check out, she has an Etsy shop that you can buy her clothing line from.

On her blog she does an interesting person of the week, where she interviews other shop owners and sometimes there are some giveaways! I blogged about one that she is hosting for Pretty In Pink Vintage, make sure to check out my post on that!

So go check out PPP's blog and let her know I sent you on over!

Piano Lessons

Grandon and Madison have both started piano lessons, with their Oma Schlueter! She is a WONDERFUL teacher, and the kids seem to really love playing! I love watching them and listening to them play.

They get a quarter and a cookie after each lesson, and then we get to sit down and have a yummy lunch with Oma and Papa Schlueter!

Not to mention they just LOVE going and getting to see Oma and Papa!

I'm so glad that we get this opportunity to learn to play the piano, I've even learned a few things myself!

A new edition to my blogging....

I LOVE blogging, and have really made it a high priority to update my blog and be a better blogger. My problem is one blog leads to another, which leads to another, and next thing I know I've spent HOURS looking at tons of blogs, following them, and then getting lost in them!

I retain so much from them, that I start to forget what idea came from which blog! I've come to realize that if that's the biggest problem of my day, then I think I'm doing alright, good thing for a history list that I can go digging through!

So since I LOVE all the new blogs I come upon, I've decided to share a new blog that I discover with y'all, I'm hoping to share a new one daily! I'm sure the list won't ever end!

So today my blog of the day is JustBeccuz, she does everything from cards to banners to V.T. Kits (my LDS readers will understand that)! Her blog is full of great ideas, you could get some great inspiration to make new things or if you don't have that much time to get crafty, you can go to her etsy store and buy her craftiness, go visit her Etsy store!

*Let her know you came from my blog*

Park Day!

I guess one of the best things about living in a sunny state is you get to be outside a lot! Even if it's over a 100 degrees outside (which it can STOP being a 100 and over, FALL you may come now).

My mom, bro, and all 7 grandkids went to Landa Park (one of my favorites) to take a picture of all the grandkids together for my mom. We did a picnic lunch, a lot of playing on the playgrounds, tree climbing, and swing jumping! I LOVE hanging out with my bro (Daniel) we have so much fun together!

After playing around like a bunch of monkeys, we were off to feed the ducks old bread, it's their favorite! We happen to meet a beaver? No, River Rat?, No, Nutrient? While honestly we aren't sure, I don't think it was a beaver, because it didn't have the paddle tail. Whatever it was, it was very friendly, I tried my best to talk Daniel into picking it up, but he chickened out when it came up to him!

After exploring, whatever creature it was and feeding the ducks, we went and did my kids and I favorite part of the park, the TRAIN!!!!

By time we were done with the train we were beyond hot, so we went and cooled down with sundaes at McDonald's. Then back to my mom's house for a dip in the pool. I'm pretty sure my kids over did it, Madison wasn't 100% back to being better, and by the end of the day she was starting to feel yucky again, and now Grandon has got "whatever it is."

Anyways, enough rambling, all in all we had a great day and it was tons of fun! Tomorrow is Friday, which is piano lessons day,the kids are really liking piano lessons! After lessons it's our chili day at home!

Remodel Project

I'm refinishing my great great grandmother's desk. I want to do a shabby chic with it, should I paint is white and then rough it up with sand paper or should I give it a natural oak stain finish?

Should my accent colors be bright orange or a bright red, for my pops of color? Should I do pops of red and orange fabrics for the front of the drawers (look at picture number 3 for my thought process on this)?

Tell me your thoughts!

Family!!!

Family is such a great part of our lives, and we've done so many family things this past weekend. It's so nice to have a nice relaxing family weekend. We went to Farmer's Market, HEB, errand running, and movie watching. Sunday was Church, it's so hard to get up and be at church by 9 during summer, but always so worth it in the end!

On a bit of a sad news side, My uncle is in our prayers though, he's in the hospital very sick, so please keep him your prayers.

Speaking of family check out this great giveaway, leave a comment and let her know I sent you there!

Since we had some AWESOME home-grown tomato's from Elva's garden, it made this pie one of the best one yet!

One of the best things about making this dish is that my kids can help me, and it's so much fun letting them! Tonight only Madison wanted to help:

They're only sweet when there asleep....

Why is it that your kids only know how to be sweet when they're sleeping?

I love my monkey girl to death, but she is going to be the death of me...I SWEAR! She is all over the place, has a hard time being nice to anyone, including me!

She can give you a look that would make your great grandmother cry and all for no reason what so ever!

But....when she is sleeping, she is the sweetest, cutest, and most innocent thing in the whole world! Now how to keep her that way....hmmmm (ponder)

New Haircut...

So after much back and forth on what to do with my hair, I finally made a decision! I really wanted extensions, but have you seen the price of those babies??? I mean really $500, I just couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money!

So What did I do, I went the complete opposite direction and cut it all off! Clayton hates it with all of his being, but he hates short hair! 5 out of 7 days of the week I LOVE it, but I do LOVE my long hair, I'm just very impatient and I'm NOT paying $500 to have it super long!

Oh well, as I've always said "It's just hair" so what do you think?

Like, Love it, or maybe it'll grow on ya???
