Holey Donuts Batman!!!

So after reading a friends blog I found out about this great company called Holey Donuts! They are low fat Gourmet Donuts, yes you read that right LOW FAT DONUTS!!! It doesn't or can't get any better than that, right? WRONG!!!

If you have a family like mine where you have to be very aware of product labels due to allergies, then apparently it does get better!!! My family is sensitive and allergic to milk products, well guess what, there is NO and I repeat NO milk products at all in any of there products, where have these people been my husband entire adult life, do I sense Christmas present for my ever so donut lover husband, hmmmm???

Anyways go check them out, tell them I referred you and enjoy, make sure you put down Tiffany Cox in the heard about from a friend section when you create your own account!

HOLEY DONUTS BATMAN!!!

A fun filled Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving is such a peaceful time of year. It's so wonderful to gather around the table with family and friends. Our Thanksgiving was just as it always is, simple and perfect. Not to big not to small. Everyone but me stuffed there faces till they couldn't breath, I ate my few bits and was good to go!!!

We played our homemade version of pictionary, which was great and oh so much fun! We laughed at Madison who flipped out when a dog sniffed her shoe, wish I had gotten pictures of that, but oh well it was still funny!

Then after putting my husband and kids to bed, I got my crocs on and off to midnight madness I went. I only went to Toys r' us, but that was enough for me, I'd love to tell y'all about all the great deals I got, but sadly they are secrets, since most of them were for people who read my blog!

But I can and will say I only spent $45.00, that's like a new world record for me, came home with 2 bags full of goodies, and saved a good $60.00!!! How can you not love holiday season? I'm so glad we get to put our Christmas tree up, and start planning our Christmas adventures!

We have so many exciting events coming up this month and I just can't wait! I feel like such a little kid again!!! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving~

I'm a total slacker...

I've been a total blog slacker the past week and a half or so! I have a good excuse though right? I've been recovering!!! I'm doing great, a whole lot better then the first week. They kinda don't tell you how to prepare for that first week right after surgery! It was a rough one, filled with hunger, tears, melt downs, and full of regret!

Now that it has all passed and I can EAT again, I'm really glad that I went though with all of this. My husband has been wonderful! I"m so glad he's my husband and my mother has been an angel sent as well! Thank you to ALL my wonderful family and friends who have really stepped up and helped us out during my recovery period!

We are now getting ready for Holiday season and I'm so excited! I LOVE Christmas it's my favorite time of the year and I can't wait for all the lights and decorations! Next Saturday is Clayton's 35 birthday, I can't believe I've been with him since he was 29, I can't believe he's going to be 35, WOW, where did the time go?

He doesn't seem like he's going to be that "OLD" don't let him know I said that!!!

We are starting to get prepared for surgery number 5 with Grandon, we go to the doctor tomorrow to set it all up, I'll keep everyone posted! Well I suppose that's all the updates I've got for y'all as of now. I'm off to go do what I do best SHOPPING!!!

Chicken Tortilla Soup

Okay so here is my first entire for the recipe section of my blog, I'm working on creating a button you can click on to take you to all the recipe's that will be posted. Make sure you link up on McLinky you can type your recipe in there, or if you want you can email me it, just leave me a comment asking for my email.

Chicken Tortilla Soup:

  1. 1 can of Cream of Chicken soup
  2. 1 can of Cheddar Cheese soup
  3. 1/2 can of MILD enchilada sauce*
  4. 1 can of skim milk

Mix ingredients in saucepan and heat on stove, stirring until the Cream of Chicken and Cheese soups melt and combine well with the other ingredients.

*The original recipe calls for 1 can of MILD enchilada sauce but I would urge you to start with just 1/2 the can and only add the other 1/2 if it does not taste too spicy.

Just a quick update...

So it's day 5 of recovery. The surgery went great, the healing process has been a bit difficult. It's hard not being able to pick up my kids or let them sit on my lap or sleep with me. The pain has gotten a lot better just real sore in the port site. Hopefully I can start my full liquids soon, the clear liquid stage is killer.

It has brought on many different and mixed emotions. You really don't know how much food effects you till you feel like you are in starvation mode. The liquid phases are so important to the healing of your stomach.

Recovery in general regardless of the reason just sucks, it's a long process and is never really any fun! I hope the next 2 and half weeks just fly by. I will be so much happier when I can start eating soft - solid foods. I've never craved an egg as much as I do now! I want tomato pie and a scrambled egg with turkey bacon and salsa, oh and topped with a sprinkle of cheese! Doesn't that sound good? These are all things that I can eat!

I've joined a lab band forum and have found tons of awesome recipes! So I've decided that I'm going to start a new section on my blog for recipes. I encourage everyone to send me recipes that you want featured or posted. If you could put the calorie, fat, carbs, sugar, and protein count with them that would be great! If you don't have all the information don't let it stop you from submitting your recipe anyways!

Give me a few days to get it all set up and then start enjoying the recipes, try them out and then let us all know how they came out!

I've found through all of this that, it's more than just putting a tool in your body, it's about, your lifestyle, eating habits, your support, and your choices. You have to have a tremendous amount of support, a shoulder to cry on, because believe me tears will be shed, someone to encourage you and remind you of your reasons along the way, but most of all you need to surround yourself around people who aren't going to pressure you into eating things you know you shouldn't.

It can't be looked at as a diet it has to be looked at and approach as a lifestyle change, a decision you decide, a decision to live a long healthy life. That doesn't mean you have to give up all your favorite little treats, snacks, and goodies, it just means you have to learn to not have them every day of your life!

So I know I sound like I'm preaching, but I assure you I'm not, these are things I have to tell myself all the time. A daily remind, because sometimes just looking at my beautiful children just isn't enough.

Step by step and day by day, I will have to learn how to use my tool, and work through the up's and down's of my emotions. If there is one thing that my mother has taught me, it's to go through with the things you choose to do and commit to it. Don't give up just because it gets hard or you don't want to do it anymore. This is something I try to teach my children as well, and I need to set that example for them also.

Someone once said "No one ever said it would be easy, they only said it would be worth it"

Friend Making Monday...

I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween! I know we did, a post about that will follow soon! But today is Monday and that means it's Friend Making Monday! Amber is still hosting it, and I've loved all her questions.

Today she asks:

What is your favorite Halloween candy?

This year I didn't get to enjoy one single candy, not even a lick! I've been doing so good with this liquid diet! Just because I didn't get to taste or lick any of it doesn't mean I don't have my favorites, yes there is an "s" on the end, because I don't have just one!

Snickers Cruncher is my all time favorite candy bar, that Snickers no long makes! BOOO!!!

Pay Day is my 2nd all time favorite!

Mr. Goodbar is my 3rd, I LOVE each one these candy bars!!!

What are your favorites?
